BookAuthority collects and ranks the best books in the world, and it is a great honor to get this kind of recognition. Thank you for all your support! Please keep buying this book retail (not second hand) so I can keep seending chefs to West Africa from my sales!

Congratulations! We were thrilled to attend your discussion at Monticello;s Heritage Harvest Festival last Saturday. It was #1 on list of things to do and did not disappoint. Love your work and the insights I have gained from it (purchased your autographed book at Montpelier). Keep it coming – I am hungry for more.

This book is amazing. I got the audio from the local library on overdrive and said, “No. I need to invest my money in this work of art.” And I went on and bought the book. It is for sure a keeper. Brilliant. Thank you for doing this work. I am Yoruba from Nigeria and I feel that after living in the US for almost 40 years, I am just starting to get to the point of appreciating and discovering even more of the connection of West Africa and African Americans. You are simply brilliant. Thank you.

I am in the midst of your wonderful book right now, and its a mind-blower! I’ve been a chef my entire adult life, and my (on-going) culinary education would never have been complete without having worked with Edna Lewis back when I headed the kitchen at Willow Grove. OMG, the things I learned… And then meeting Leni Sorensen in Charlottesville! I recently moved to Maine from C-Ville, and am sad that I missed your presentation. I wonder if you’ll come north some time. I hope you do. You have a lot of teaching and story-telling yet to do!

Also, I’m not on Twitter, but I’d pay 1K for 6 days of hands-on class work w/ you at Williamsburg.
